My first event via Scarlett was a charming Party at The Conduit Club in London

Our host also wanted to dedicate the party to a women's charity which she volunteers for https://www.womenforwomen.org.uk

In keeping with the charity's vision of woman supporting woman, she embarked upon the challenge to hire a team of women only artist. This she accomplished with a talented magician, an electric violinist and me, I was honored to be part of this fantastic evening.

Fiesta privada en Mayfair, The Conduit Club. Londres

Mi primer evento de Scarlett fue una fiesta súper Chic en el Club Privado "The Conduit" en Londres https://theconduit.com/ Nuestra anfitriona también quiso dedicar la fiesta a una organización benéfica para mujeres en la que ella trabaja como voluntaria https://www.womenforwomen.org.uk 

De acuerdo con la visión de organización de apoyo a la mujer, se embarcó en el desafío de contratar a un equipo de mujeres artistas. Se asombró de la dificultad para encontrar mujeres magos pero logró con gran acierto encontrar a Romina una maga talentosa, una violinista eléctronica y a mí!, Tuve el honor de ser parte de una velada fantástica.

Sandhurst Commissioning Ball 2018

It was a great honour that on Friday 10th August I was invited to The Royal Military Academy
at Sandhurst to

draw portraits of the newly commissioned officers at their Commissioning Ball.  The Academy is where all officers in the British Army are trained and their motto of ‘Serve to Lead’ is something that they now live by in their new regiments.  Over a 3 hour period I was proud to be able to draw 15 Officers, both male and female, and to be able to see their wonderful characters and to portray it in their portraits. Congratulations to all those who were commissioned on the day and for completing one of the hardest courses in the British Army.

Testimony:

"Daniela was invited to the Commissioning Ball at the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst to draw  the newly commissioned officers who had just completed their 1 year course.  The course they had completed tested them in every way possible and a number of their colleagues did not succeed in making the grade. So the Ball was a celebration of them passing the course and becoming officers and the future of the British Army.

It was therefore really important for Daniela to capture the ‘spirit of the moment’ in their portraits and I am delighted she exceeded my expectations.

They were all delighted with their portraits and immediately were showing them to their guests. Daniela blended in to what was a completely new environment to her and it was obvious that her subjects enjoyed chatting to her while she completed the portrait. We will be inviting her back!"

I was touched when a friend of mine, Lisa, asked me if she could use a drawing I did of her mum in a drop-in artist home visit for the front cover of the Order of Service for her funeral. The moment we shared whilst doing the drawing served as a reminder to all friends and family that attended the funeral that we all share precious moments. Somehow this special image of her will stay in our hearts.

Me conmovió cuando una amiga mía, Lisa, me preguntó si podía usar un dibujo que le hice a su madre en una de mis visitas de Dibujo, en la cubierta de la Orden de Servicio del funeral de su madre. El momento que compartimos mientras hacíamos el dibujo quedó marcado en el papel. Me gusta imaginar que el retrato sirve para conectar con la memoria de aquel a quien se contempla y que apartir de esos recuerdos cada quien traza, dibuja o a veces corrige el recuerdo que permanecerá definitivamente en cada uno de los corazones.

That’s what this St. Valentine’s Day commission is all about. I was asked to bring to life an illustration with love at its center. Their story is told as their memories unfold.

¿Qué pasaría si pudieras tener tu historia de amor representada en una sola imagen? 

De eso se trata esta comisión de San Valentín. Me pidieron dar vida a una ilustración donde el  amor es el tema centra. La historia transcurré entre besos y símbolos que solo cobran sentido para los que viven esta historia de amor.
